Food Rescue & Distribution: Minimizing Waste, Maximizing Resources

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
The opening panel discussion at the Hazon Food Festival will be a conversation between Cathy Snyder, Founder and ED of Rolling Harvest Food Rescue, Melanie Cataldi, Chief Operating Officer of Philabundance, and Rabbi Eli Freedman, Rodeph Shalom. Though on the surface, our panelists exist in different realms, their work meets at the intersection of sustainability, community, and the thoughtful use and distribution of healthy, life sustaining food. They'll engage with one another around issues of food waste, recovery, and distribution, hunger relief, and community health. Framing the conversation will be the Jewish principle of bal tashchit, which when taken in a modern context, strongly encourages a thoughtful and conscious approach towards minimizing waste.
