Nicole Sugerman will lead participants in learning how to preserve fruits and vegetables by drying. Drying fruits and veggies is an easy, time-honored, low maintenance way to preserve extra produce, and it won't take up space in your freezer or fridge!  Learn about solar dehydrating, oven drying, and string drying. Participants will be able to make and take their own string of veggies to dry at home.

Nicole Sugerman has been an urban farmer and educator for 10 years.  She is particularly passionate about building the capacity of home and small-space gardeners and using food production as a mechanism for community self-determination.  She is a co-manager of Guild House Farm, a half-acre production garden and orchard serving a residential community of senior citizens.
